From Teacher to Tutor
Meet Shannon!
In 2001, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resource Management. After some time, I realized this was not the right path for me and decided to go back to school. I received a master's degree in teaching and a Reading Specialist Certification.
I have held many roles as an educator, including classroom teacher, MTSS coordinator, instructional coach, consultant, reading specialist, private tutor and author. If I am not wearing one of my many educational hats, you can find me reading a good book, cooking healthy meals or exercising.
Shannon helps K-5 students with reading intervention strategies so they can become confident readers.
I have always been passionate about reading. I am proud to be able teach reading outside of the classroom.
It is so rewarding to be able to make a difference in the lives of kids, and I feel so lucky that I get to do what I love every day.
